Dilli
I think the bottom line of this song is the poet’s desire to figure the philosophy of ‘Dilli’. To quote him “Par kahan hai is shahar ka falsafa”. A cities philosophy is the defined by its people but Dilli’s people are as varied as its different & extreme seasons, it’s almost impossible to figure out one common denominator. Here at one extreme you find people who dream exorbitant dreams and where as others live their lives in indolence. Arrogance of people is apparent “Aur sarhkein theen sab mere baap ki”. He captures the laziness of dilli waala’s with humor talking about the party whose name is “Avaara: Bhatakana jiska vidhan hai, Fursat hai kaam ,Kuchh dhundhla sa jiska nishan hai” Got a smile on my face! How true for so many dilli waala’s.
A very moving line: “Dekhe jazbey kai yahan patthar bante huey” examples flashed in front of me: from “Mandal commission” to “Jessica Lal's murder” case.
Guess what - I could never figure out why I love Dilli either!
“Aur main hun, Tu hai aur hai Dilli bas”

"AJ" ki jana "Main" kaun?
Why?
Plain, Bulla is somebody who is governed by the society, race, creed, sex etc. but there is someone deep inside who is the actual being, who is lost somewhere. That is the actual person, a human being who does not belong to any of those groups. But Bulla cannot know it, Bulla cannot fathom it.
After all Bulla ki Jana mein kaun; AJ ki jana mein kaun.
Source: Somewhere deep within me (and not AJ), a need to write on this beautiful song.

Delhi Heights - Kitni Der Tak
kitni der tak tum baahar rukogi
kitni der tak mein rukuun yahaan
kitni der tak tum sochati rahog
iyeh mein bhi dekhunga
kitni der tak tum, mujhe na kahogi
apane sheher aane ko
kitni der tak, dhundana hai bahaana
tumhe kisi bhi tarah chhune ka..
(kitni der tak – 2aaj shaam ya savere tak) – 2odo?
baad main door jaanarowaanga
mein baithe door kise kone vich
mud ke ni geet yeh main gaana???
odo? baad main tur? jaana
odo? baad tu tur? jaana
kitne der tum baatien karogi
filmo ki aur falsafon ki
kitni der aarjoo aad mein chhupegi
coffee ki aur kehkaho ki
kitni der tak uss dil mein rahega
mere naam par ek sawaal
kitni der tak yeh chhndana girega
saath mein chalegi taal(kitni der tak -
2aaj shaam ya savere tak) - 2odo?
baad main tur javaarowaanga
mein baithe door kise kone vich
mud ke ni geet main gaana
odo? baad main tur jaana
odo? baad tu tur jaana
(kitni der tak - 2
aaj shaam ya savere tak) - 4
odo? baad main door jaanarowaanga
mein baithe door kise kone vich
mud ke ni geet main gaana???
odo? baad main tur jaana
odo? baad tu tur jaana
(kitni der tak - 2
aaj shaam ya savere tak) - 4

Rabbi Shergill back again - Delhi Heights
We are back again as Rabbi is.
Here is a popular song from Movie Delhi Heights : Dilli
Jagegi raat bhar aur / It will keep awake all night
Bhagegi saath par kar / It will run alongside but
Dalegi belagaam khayalon ko / It will make your thoughts go wild
Puchhegi ye savaal aur / It will pose questions
Mangegi ye hisaab na / Ask for accounts but wont
Sunegi tere in javabon ko / Listen to your answers
Yahan hai ik nadi / Over here is a river
Aur vahan hai ik lal qila / And over there is a red fort
Par kahan hai is shahar ka falsafa / But where this town philosophy
Yahan aansu aur geet / Here tears and songs
Aur javani thi maine tere naam ki / And youth I dedicated to you
Avaara thi raat/ Vagrant were the nights
Aur sarhkein theen sab mere baap ki /And my father owned all the roads
Aur main tha / And there was I
Tu thi aur thi Dilli bas /You and Dilli just
Kahin koi urh raha hai/Somewhere someone flying
Kahin koi gir raha hai/ Somewhere someone falling
Kahin koi hai kharha qagaar pe/ Somewhere someone standing on the edge
Kahin koi baney gulam / Somewhere someone accepts slavery
Kahin koi hai parha intezar mein / Somewhere someone lies in wait
Jab gaya kal main qutub minar / When I went yesterday to Qutub Minar
Aur suna tha maine eilaan / And heard the announcement
Ki bani hai yahan ik nai party / That a new party been formed
Avaara hai naam / Vagabond its name
Bhatakana jiska vidhan hai /And wandering its constitution
Fursat hai kaam /Whiling away its
Kuchh dhundhla sa jiska nishan hai/ Its symbol little fuzzy
Vahan main tha / There was I
Tu thi aur thi Dilli bas /You and Delhi just
Dekhe yahan kai mausam badalte huey/ Have seen many seasons change
Dekhe jazbey kai yahan patthar bante huey/Have seen many upsurges turn to stone
Kai vaqt se pehle / Some before their time
Sab aaj tu keh le / So say it all today
Avaara hai naam / Vagabond the name
Bhatakana apna vidhan hai /And wandering our constitution
Fursat hai kaam /Whiling away its work
Kuchh dhundhla sa jiska nishan hai / Its symbol a little fuzzy
Vahan main tha /There was I
Tu thi aur thi Dilli bas / You and Delhi just
Dekhe yahan kai mausam badalte huey / Have seen many seasons change
Dekhe jazbey kai yahan patthar bante huey / Have seen many upsurges turn to stone
Kai vaqt se pehle / Some before their time
Sab aaj tu keh le / So say it all today
Avaara hai naam / Vagabond the name
Bhatakana apna vidhan hai /And wandering our constitution
Fursat hai kaam / Whiling away our work
Kuchh dhundhla sa apna nishan hai / Our symbol a little fuzzy
Aur main hun / And there I
Tu hai aur hai Dilli bas / You and Delhi just
