aren't these the greatest lyrics ever written, rabbi's songs have a strange effect on u, it's not music, its feelings that just enters you, bring tears to ur eyes even if u dnt understand each word, but thanks a tonn for this translation!!!!
Ofcourse i hope ppl do realise/know that Ishtihaar is actualy poem written by late great Shiv Kumar Batalvi.
No doubt Rabbi made a great album too but Shiv Kumar was greatest ;)
as pointed out by anonymous its a Shiv Kumar Batalvi poem . Real media link in Batalvi's own voice
can some one pleaaaaaase post the lyrics of 'Aaj nachna song' ?
I just got to know about Rabbi Shergill and I didn't know he had sung Ishtihaar by Shiv Kumar Batalvi. I just heard his version, no doubt Rabbi sang it very well, but the way Shiv Kumar recited it at the link posted by appetite4des... is just the most beautiful thing you will ever hear. Shiv's pain is so apparent in his words, which Rabbi kinda failed to show. Again, Rabbi sings very well, bulla ki jana and the song from Delhi Heights is beautiful! Full lyrics of ishtehaar are also on my blog (complete poem, with even the paragraphs that Rabbi ommitted) - http://www.tanhaa.net/index.php/2007/09/10/ishtehaar-shiv-kumar-batalvi/
